On September 10, 2025, SOG and community partners were invited to attend the Harvest luncheon organized by the gardeners of Russell Road to celebrate their success (photo above). Like all gardeners this year, they had challenges, but all in all they had much more successes than setbacks. The seedlings from Northern Seeds and Slow Roots Farm grew abundantly.
The gardeners on Clementine Blvd also had spectacular success with their raised beds. They celebrated their harvest with a special lunch on September 26. These experienced gardeners spent a great deal of time outdoors carefully tending their beds and solving the challenges that most gardeners face, including weather, weeds, insects, and what to do with all the food they produce. All the gardeners proudly shared their harvest with each other and with their families. They are saving seeds from their best produce for germination next year.
Congratulations to all the Senior Organic Gardeners, and also to those who were camera shy. It was a pleasure to celebrate with partners.
